Facilities
M.Y. Aberdonia is a Dunkirk Little Ship - a truly vintage craft, lovingly restored to a high standard. She is skippered, fully crewed, and has modern facilities, including a shower, on-deck bose sound system and covered aft deck for your enjoyment and comfort.
Involvement in Dunkirk & Operation Dynamo - The Little Ships of Dunkirk
In 1940, when the British and Allied troops were being pushed out of Europe, a remarkable rescue was launched to evacuate the men massed on the French beaches at Dunkirk and La Panne. A flotilla of some 700 small craft was commandeered to cross the Channel as part of Operation Dynamo. Over a 10 day period, and under heavy fire and bombing, over 338,000 soldiers were returned to Britain aboard vessels of all shapes and sizes.
Aberdonia survived the evacuation, despite suffering damage and remained in service with the Royal Navy through to the end of World War Two. She is a proud reminder of the men who gave so much in service of their country.
